
The m/38 was made at Husqvarna between 19. Note "HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS AKTIEBOLAG 1941" stamped on receiver. The elevator bar is moved forward on the m/38 to increase elevation where on the typical m/96 the elevator bar moves from front to back to increase elevation. Also the sight functions differently than a typical Swedish Mauser rear sight. This denotes that the sight is calibrated for the m/91/41 139 grain bullet.

Note the rear sight has the letter "T" stamped at the top of it. The m/38 retains all of the quality, grace, and beauty that is indicative of the Swedish Mausers. The m/38 was a new production rifle with only minor differences from the m/96 including shorter overall length, a new sight, and bent bolt.

The barrel length of the m/38 is only 23.1 inches which is six inches shorter than the m/96 Swedish Mauser. T he Swedish m/38 Rifle ( manufactured from 1941 to 1943) is based upon the design of the Swedish m96-38 rifle which was a modified m/96 rifle with a new shorter barrel.
